More and specific training for coaches befor they are allowed to coach high or middle school teams.
To have passed strict testing for the various fundamentals of the sports and philosophy and fundamentals of coaching. We are getting too much poor coaching for young athletes in  track and field and cross countrry. if the body is warm and has a pulse they are allowed to coach in too many school systems. Fault: administration of the schools.

i dont think adding more testing and beuracracy would encourage better coaching

USA T&F has certification clinics for coaches that should be mandatory for coaches. We have six high school track coaches and all are level one certified

It is a good idea to have certified coaches for all sports and athletics is high school and middle school. It would help teach the children better fundumentals and techniques all around. However, in many rural places it is very hard to have people volunteer to coach sports such as track and field as it is. It would be great to see more training camps for all event types across the nation. These types of camps really help teach not only the athletes how to properly do an event, but the parents that attend and spectate also learn a great deal on how to help teach children properly.

Many universities and even smaller colleges offer these camps in the summers. If your children are serious about the sport, contact some of your local colleges to see if they offer any camps that may benefit your child in these types of training.

Good luck to all,
Sincerely,

The staff at Athletic Points
